Complete Dentures:

Removable complete dentures are done when all the teeth are missing or extracted due pyorrhea, major accident etc. Complete dentures are different types of acrylic, plastic or porcelain teeth with pink acrylic base material.

In aged patients sometimes while washing or wearing the denture it may fall and crack, complete dentures with metal lining are a solution to this problem. Due to metal lining such dentures do not crack or break even if they fall.

Implants:

In patients with edentulous mouth who do not want removable complete dentures, or are allergic to acrylic material of complete dentures full mouth reconstruction with implant is possible.

Benefits of implant over removable complete Dentures:

• Complete dentures have to be removed every time you eat something washed properly and then placed again in mouth. This is not the case with implant as it is fitted in your mouth.
• In patients with less gum support complete denture might not fit properly may come out on sneezing, coughing or laughing loudly.
• As upper complete denture covers the whole palate some patients feel nauciating change in speech.
• As implant is a fix structure patient has social and psychology feeling of well being like his natural teeth.
